We are happy to present the new Seasonal Living Magazine Spring 2023. This new issue has a distinct Italian flair as seen in our travel, food, entertaining, and wellness sections. In design, you will find plenty of color and tips for hiring an interior photographer. Also, be sure to see our brochure insert featuring some of our favorite new Seasonal Living products.
WHAT’S INSIDE
Art, culture, architecture, design, fashion… we are taking you to Rome, where all of these things are in abundance. Our Roman holiday inspired much of this issue from entertaining to our wellness article on living longer with the Mediterranean diet. Beyond that, feel the joy of spring with vibrant color throughout this issue from the recipes to the bold palette in the interior design created by Laurence Carr.
ROAMING IN ROME
Rome is always right. Wandering through the many diverse neighborhoods, you can find iconic ancient buildings, world-class shopping, quaint cafes, grand piazzas with spectacular fountains, and a staggering number of museums. Get our guide for what to eat and see and where to stay. Then learn a little about La Dolce Vita and why it is the bedrock of Italian living. Finally, our neighborhood guide will get you pointed in the right direction for planning your next trip to Rome.
SPRING-INSPIRED ITALIAN DISHES
Seasonal Living Magazine strives to bring you recipes that are “in season” or inspired by the season. For this issue, freshness and color are the foundation for our spring recipes with a notable Italian influence. We used citrus in both recipes to brighten them up visually and flavorfully. Our pasta dish uses bucatini which is actually cooked in water with fresh orange juice for a unique flavor. The orange flavor is rounded out with basil and mussels creating a dish that is somewhat unexpected and very delicious.
Our dessert is limoncello tiramisu. The acidity of the lemon juice balances perfectly with the creaminess of the mascarpone cream. This colorful and fresh dessert is a keeper and ideal for spring and summer.
CIAO TIME
Italians know how to have a dinner party. From the ambiance to the courses, an authentic Italian dinner party is warm and inviting. The meal is generally informal and the dishes are flavorful and not fussy, made with a few simple yet quality ingredients. Get our tips starting on page 15 for how to throw your own authentic Italian dinner party.
LIVING LONGER
Research continues to show that the Mediterranean diet can help you live a longer and healthier life. This “diet”, which is really more of a lifestyle, focuses on a largely plant-based diet, regular physical activity, and in-person social connections. The foods are mostly non-processed, wholesome ingredients and include many of your favorite things. Read more about the research and the diet itself starting on page 17.
HUE AND HARMONY
This issue of Seasonal Living Magazine features a project by Laurence Carr. Laurence, who is an advocate and industry leader in circularity in design, puts her expertise to work in this stunning New York home. Her choices of sustainable products and finishes are paired with her keen eye for color and balance. The massive 9000-square-foot home is a collection of intimate spaces and a large family kitchen.
For the spring issue, we have also teamed up with interior photographer, Ryan McDonald from the Chicago area, to bring you a guide for hiring a professional to photograph your home or interior design project. Ryan, an experienced photographer, shares inside tips that you may not have considered. Get the full guide starting on page 33.
EVERYTHING IS NEW… AGAIN
Spring means new… and we have new. This issue features an eight-page insert of some of our new products for 2023.
